Laura Friedman is the owner and founder of Mighty Geeks, a technology services business located in North Texas and serving customers nationwide.  She is also the founder of PowerCoaching,  Give It A Voice, The Geek Vine, TechniCoaching, Straight Shootin' Diva, Unwavering Stand & End Fracking.

Laura has been in the technology industry for more than 30 years, starting as a data entry operator in high school. During her career, she's worked for Fortune 500 companies such as McGraw-Hill, IBM, Litton Industries, Dean Witter Reynolds, Deloitte, American Airlines, & SABRE, as well as several privately held companies and Gateway Church, a mega-church located in Southlake, Texas. Laura has worked from Princeton, New Jersey, to the financial district in New York. One of her favorite expressions is: "I've worked from Wall Street to Main Street".

Laura's corporate career always consisted of projects and implementations involving the latest and next-generation technology. Enterprise-wide projects such as overseeing key technology projects across American Airlines reservations' offices nationwide. Department-wide projects such as overseeing all networking and computer, and hardware and software technology aspects of a 100+ person group at SABRE developing next-generation database driven software for travel agents. High-tech projects such as programming optical scanners to grade standardized tests for private schools; as well as automated contribution statements for Gateway Church, utilizing a Pitney Bowes fully-automated mail-inserter. Mission-critical projects such as spearheading the implementation and rollout of the database backend for Gateway Church, enabling the information capture, management, tracking, and reporting of over 20,000 people.

Laura left the "corporate world" to help the homeowner, home-based business owner, and small business owner. Her commitment is to empower, educate and protect the consumer and business owner through understanding and utilizing relevant technology. She brings her passion, experience and work ethic to every client she works with to help them leverage their existing technology or recommend new technology to effectively manage and accelerate their business. Laura is a certified professional life and business coach. She has experience in one-on-one coaching, as well as city-wide and regional 6-month leadership training programs. Laura has a direct approach when working with people, coaching from Tom Landry's philosophy:

Laura's view of the people she works with is based on Michelangelo and the Statue of David. The statue originated from a piece of stone that several sculptors tried to work with and couldn't. Michelangelo took the stone and sculpted the Statue of David. He stated afterward:

“Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.”

For Laura, every person has a "David" inside them and it is the coach's task to help the person discover it for themselves and chip away the parts that aren't David.

Laura is a single mother, raising her two children in North Texas for the past 9 years. Laura understands hard work, personal growth, taking risks, struggling, failing, persevering and succeeding. She has a strong faith which guides her in life and business.
